Now a report is saying that A-ROD is taking the high road by saying that the comments made by Torre do not bother him.
Here is the ESPN article:

While I do agree with Torre's assesment of ARod, why didn't he have the guts to say it while he was the manager?
I've always respected Torre as a good guy. This makes him no different than Canseco trying to sell his book.
Said like a true Met Fan!
i really think it's all a publicity stunt to sell the book. Today there are reports that those quotes were said out of context and that the A-Fraud thing wasn't said by Torre.. blah blah blah.
When in doubt, use the old "taken out of context" excuse.
I sure wish I could use that line in my everday life. I think it would have made dating a lot easier...
Baby, please don't be mad at me....I didn't mean to say you were overweight, it was all "taken out of context."
There were people in Boston saying this about A-Rod while Joe Torre was manager--does that count for something ? It is sad that Alex Rodriquez is living a very shallow life and doesn't seem to appreciate what he has been blessed with. He is indeed a gifted ball player..it is a sad sitiuation.
